The ABB RLM02 PROFIBUS DP/FMS Redundancy Link Module is designed to enhance the reliability of PROFIBUS communication by converting a non-redundant PROFIBUS line into two redundant RS485 lines or vice versa. This module supports seamless integration into PROFIBUS networks, allowing for robust and fault-tolerant data communication.

Versatile Positioning: Can be installed directly after a master, before a bus segment with multiple slaves, or before an individual slave.

Redundant Couplers Integration: Compatible with PROFIBUS stations equipped with redundant couplers.

Application
Line Redundancy: Reinforces signal integrity and monitors all lines for activity and faults. Faults are indicated via an LED on the front panel, with diagnostic messages available on the 8-pole terminal strip.
Combining Redundant Lines: Forwards the first correctly framed data from either line A or line B to connection M. In the case of simultaneous data arrival, one line is selected randomly. If an error is detected in one line, the control logic switches to the other available line.
Splitting a Non-Redundant Line: Distributes correctly framed data arriving via connection M to lines A and B in parallel. Incorrectly framed data is not output to lines A and B.
